This is a sleek HDD enclosure that one would want to put it on top of his or her computer desk. However, the noise coming from the working hard drive is noticeable unless you place it far away from you or under your desk. By doing that you would lose easy access to the power switch. I even chose to use the rubber feet stands, expecting they would provide some type of noise reduction. No significant improvement. Maybe my WD drives are louder than others. I don't know about that since I love WD HDDs and don't own other brands. Or maybe the enclosure just amplifies the noise from the hard drive by design since metals are touching each others inside the case.
It deserves a 4-star because of its nice looking and usability, but I wouldn't turn it on for long because the noise gets annoying overtime.
