I was looking for a stand for my HP 17" laptop & liked the styling of this one. So, despite some negative reviews, I purchased one. It is nice to see a stand that uses real metal(aluminum) and clear plastic. It goes together easily. I don't use it to type on,I have a separate keyboard, and it would probably be a bit unstable for typing. One great feature is that it is easily disassembled for travel and fits in my laptop case. A feature I had not thought of is that in a Powerpoint presentation, as the laptop is on the table, I can use the stand to hold my notes binder.
