Everyone develops personal preferences over time for one reason or another. I have a personal preference for the XLR ends with the really fine threaded plastic cap on the outside (first to slide down the cable) with a 4 legged gripper underneath that slides next down the cable and pinches down as you tighten the plastic outer cap into the metal housing with the solder contacts causing the gripper to strain relief most cable diameters. Back to pyle's product here, I basically took away 1 star for not using the easy to open and re-wire XLRs but gave them a star for value in the product since it's 15 feet long and will reach between my mixer and most anything else inside the booth for under a buck a foot. It's also great when someone yells "it's too short I need a cable stretcher at the podium!" and quickly adds 15 feet of noise free movement to a stage snake that either wasn't planned for or got moved/quit working. For the price they have saved many installations from being torn up or rewired which means no surprises opening the next showing.

I finally equipped my cable kit with the usual XLR to RCA, 1/4 TRS, hi-z transformers, and the above mentioned 6 pack of 3 foot cables to quickly gain access to the XLR terminals if need be, plus 2 of these 15 foot cables mainly to solve distance problems, and a roll of gaffer's tape for good measure to prevent tripping hazards. I used to have 2ea 50 foot XLR cables but no sooner than the box was opened one became a permanent addition to the stage snake so now I have one left for my kit. With all that I had to build an emergency XLR to 2.5mm TS all metal shielded connector for a mike input on short notice so a soldering kit with misc plugs got added to my cable bin. Even though all this was under $100 it has saved the day more than once and made the show go on, so a bit of "what if" thinking and judicial purchases can make you look like the miracle mixer in the black painted room and justify your existance when the owner's daugher's toy musicbox becomes a channel in the house mix thanks to some quick cable magic.

My last cable advice is never deconstruct something you custom made. It will no doubt be needed again, and since you made it you'll know why, how, and where it was used before, thus you save time not recreating a past fix rather pulling it from your magic box of tricks and solving the problem. People think you can hook anything up where others tried and failed furthering your staff position. My only exception goes to cables that violate every standard and didn't serve to fix the problem like that phase reversed ground lifted XLR 4 pin stereo Y splitter to dual TRS female cable I made for the harmonica duet where the performers had nose rings and lip bars pierced and kept getting static with their mics when they held the harmonica up to their jewelry. Honestly, I was blown away with the concept of wifi being added to a flash memory card, but also skeptical if it would live up to the hype. I think there's room for improvement with the software, but the card itself actually works quite well.


Easy Setup

Just plug in the USB reader and SDHC card to launch and install the software and you're up and running within minutes. The wireless connection to your router might be where some novice users run into problems, but I suspect if you know what wifi is, then you're probably smart enough to figure out how to enable the connection. It's really no harder than connecting to a wifi hotspot at home or in your local coffee shop. Nothing complicated there, so let's move on to the true test...


Shooting Pics and Vids

I dropped the Eye-Fi into my Canon HFS 10, switched the cam's record settings from internal memory storage to this Eye-Fi -- and voila -- I was ready to shoot. And I tell ya, it's pretty cool to take a picture, and then seconds later, see it automatically pop-up on my computer screen and download into a folder on my hard drive. Videos obviously take longer to download than pics, but it still works and is pretty neat. Though honestly, I doubt I'd rely on this Eye-Fi to transfer my HD vids. The files can be pretty large, and I'd be concerned about file integrity over a sustained wireless connection. Anyone who has worked extensively with video footage knows how easily files can be corrupted. And for me, there are still circumstances where hardwires are just better and more reliable than any wireless connection. I guess I'm just old school that way. Besides, I prefer using my video camera's interface and software since it catalogs my videos in a way I'm used to working with. Maybe with some time to acclimate to the change I might use the Eye-Fi to transfer videos too, but for now, I'm gonna stick to just using it for pictures and transfer my HD vids manually. Besides, it's only 8gb, which isn't all that much when it comes to AVCHD video.


Software

The weakest element here is the software. Don't get me wrong, it works just fine. But it feels a little restrictive and the user interface is limited. But then, maybe it doesn't matter all that much since I already have my favorite photo editing and organizing programs. I guess it could just be a little more obvious about certain things, such as, why thumbnails remain viewable to pics that I've deleted. But I've since learned those files are refreshed every few days, so the orphaned thumbnails iron themselves out in the end. But overall, maybe the pared down interface is best. It takes a bit to get used to, but aside from setting up the wireless connection and selecting where to store files, the software really doesn't have to do much else for my needs.

Bottom line - the price tag is a bit hefty, but make no mistake, this is a cool little gadget. And since it's rated for class 6 speeds, the memory card itself is more than capable of handling speed intensive applications like AVCHD. Add to that a wifi connection -- and voila -- Eye-Fi has turned something as boring as disk storage into an exciting and pragmatically useful product. I just wish it was 32gb instead of 8, but I'm sure that's coming down the pike soon enough.

Haven't had this long enough to rate durability, so this is a "first impressions" sort of review.

The design is excellent. Can prop up iPad in landscape or portrait modes - the flip-over style is much better at providing a secure portrait platform than an opens-like-a-book style.

One thing that looked stupid in the product description, but is actually both smart and handy is the elastic strap on the back (when flipped over) under which one can put one's hand. This is remarkably convenient and comfortable for one-handed holding, leaving the other hand free to manipulate the screen and/or keyboard. One of the problems of the iPad is that its size makes it awkward to hold in one hand - the strap cures that. If it's stupid but it works, it isn't stupid.

The case seems to be very protective of the iPad. I have no qualms about putting it in a briefcase with files and miscellaneous hardware. The thin elastic retaining strap keeps the case closed, and is easy to use, one handed and without looking. How long it will last remains to be seen, but it hasn't shown any signs of premature wear.

I use the iPad in a professional setting, so I am looking for something that looks professional. The case is quite attractive without being obvious or garish - it resembles a commonly encountered leather portfolio. This blends in nicely for me, but will disappoint someone looking for an I-gotta-be-me fashion statement. In the so-called real world, if they're distracted by your toys, they're not paying attention to your presentation.

An added bonus is that an iPad is still rare enough that it is a theft magnet. The case makes it less obvious that it is an iPad and thus reduces its profile as a target.

I do not comment on the "case" versus "no case" dialectic. For use around the house, there is really little need for a case, although the enhanced one-hand use and ability to prop up hands-free would be a bonus anywhere. In the workaday world, a case is almost a necessity, for the reasons referred to above: protection, ease of use, focus, and theft temptation reduction.

One lack is that the iPad won't fit in the dock with the case, and you can't prop it in portrait position with the docking cable attached.

All in all, this is an excellent product of its type. If it lasts it will deserve the fifth star. So far, so good.

Firstoff, I have burned about 600 of these with no coasters. I am using the default HP BD/DVD drive that came in my laptop, so no fancy burner is being used either.

The ID of my DVD+R's was AML-003-00 (the AML's are rated as very terrible on some websites, but my results show the complete opposite). I tested these against the extremely highly rated Verbatim DVD+R single layers, and they actually outperformed them in terms of errors per sector.

Alrighty, I have read a lot of reviews from Amazon regarding this case. I have to say that after thoroughly looking throughout the case here are my findings.
Pros
Nice design
Looks stylish and professional
Leather feels nice and soft.
The multiple angle stand is truly amazing.
Covers the the top of the Ipad around the edges.
Snug and easy fit.
Cons
Not trimmed perfectly, and I find the stiching just above average.
Has magnets for the stand and that may cause issues with some apps, but I myself have not had any problems.
The button to close the case is a little misplaced in my opinion. It should not be placed on top, it should be placed on the side.
Distant wierd china product smell, but it dissapears after a little bit.
The best case for its value, at an average price of around $11.00 this case is superb! I had the oppurtunity to test out the apple case and I found the case to be somewhat overpriced. Fortunately for me, the case was out of stock. I noticed that the Apple case collected dust, like itnwere its job! The case only had one angle for landscape mode, and it didnt seem to sturdy.
